Job summary

Steward Equipment is seeking a reliable CDL Class A driver to join our team in Conroe, TX. You will transport heavy equipment, construction machinery, and oilfield materials, with emphasis on secure load tie-downs and compliant routes.

Key duties include operating various tractor-trailer configurations, loading and securing heavy equipment, conducting pre-trip inspections, maintaining logs per DOT regulations, and clear communication with dispatch and clients.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license.
• Minimum 5+ years of verified commercial driving experience.
• Active DOT Medical Card.
• Clean Driving Record (MVR) and ability to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and background check.
• Able to lift up to 50–75 lbs and handle heavy-duty tie-down chains, straps, and binders.
• Hazmat and TWIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A tractor-trailer combinations (flatbed, step-deck, lowboy/RGN).
• Load, secure (chaining and strapping), and unload heavy machinery and oilfield equipment.
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection checks.
• Maintain accurate logs and shipping documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, yard managers, and clients upon delivery.
• Comply with all local, state, and DOT regulations at all times.
• This is an on-call position, including nights and weekends.

• Physical Ability:Able to lift up to 50–75 lbs and handle heavy-duty tie-down chains, straps, and binders in varying weather conditions.
• Preferred: TWIC and Hazmat licensing.
