Salary: $28.62 - $37.64 per hour; M-F, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Delivers items by identifying destinations, establishing route, and maintaining scheduled guidelines.
- Inspects load prior to departure to ensure all cargo is secured in the truck or trailer for safe and efficient travel.
- Maintains safe operation of vehicle through safe driving practices.
- Maintains delivery, truck, and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgments; recording tracking information; completing driver log and truck performance forms.
- Performs all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with at least 3 years CDL experience.
- Graduation from High School or GED equivalent, three years of relevant experience, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates ability to perform essential duties.
- Flatbed and 48' and 53' trailer experience required; steel hauling and delivery experience desired.
- Good driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to pass background and drug test.
Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Skills
- Language Skills: Ability to write and read routine reports or job orders; speak effectively with customers or employees; understand spoken and written English.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret documents and instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form; organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
Attendance Demands
Attendance is required Monday through Friday within normal business hours as established by the Warehouse Supervisor. Employee may be required to work overtime.
Physical Demands
The employee regularly uses hands to grasp and lift and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb and balance. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Specific visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Noise level is usually loud.
- Exposure to hot and cold temperatures; employee works both inside and outside and on elevated balconies.
