Job summary

QXO is seeking a CDL driver to join our distribution and installation team in Maryland. You will perform touch-freight tasks, inspect loads, and maintain safe site practices while delivering building products.

The role requires a Class A or B CDL, at least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. You will earn USD 29.00–37.00 per hour plus benefits.

• Ability to operate heavy equipment and a manual transmission truck.

Responsibilities

• Perform touch-freight tasks and load verification; can involve lifting over 75 lbs.
• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify load accuracy.
• Notify management of potential hazards on site and maintain safety procedures.
• Set up job parameters and inspect the site for safe loading/unloading.
• Maintain regular communication with dispatcher to ensure timely delivery.

What You'll Do

• Perform touch-freight tasks, which may require lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs
• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the accuracy of the load
• Notify branch management of any potential hazards on site
• Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of products
• Follow all DOT and company safety procedures, and always wear appropriate PPE

What You'll Bring

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid Class A or B CDL license in good standing
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience
• Experience operating heavy equipment and driving a manual transmission truck
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
