Job summary

Mid-Atlantic Roofing Supply is hiring a Class A CDL Driver in Houston to transport inventory within a 150-mile radius and ensure safe, on-time deliveries. The role requires operating a knuckle boom or crane truck, securing loads, and completing accurate paperwork with electronic logs.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a valid Class A license, at least 1 year of tractor-trailer experience, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class A driver\'s license required.
• 1+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer driving.
• Clean driving record with no moving violations.
• Must pass a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test.
• Must be physically capable of performing all duties, including lifting up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and safely drive assigned delivery vehicle according to company regulations, state and federal laws, and customer policies
• Drive trucks with GVW over 26,000 lbs and pull towed weight over 10,000 lbs
• Secure contents inside the truck to prevent breakage or damage
• Safely unload goods at destinations
• Obtain signatures and complete paperwork with clients
• Verify shipment contents against manifest
• Perform pre and post trip inspections and report defects
• Maintain and service vehicle (fuel, oil, tires)
• Notify managers of major maintenance or delivery issues
• Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs (electronic logs)
• Follow DOT safety practices and keep workspace clean and organized
