Job summary

NAPA in Dallas, TX, seeks a City Driver to operate within 100 miles of the terminal, performing local pickups and deliveries with drop-and-hook opportunities. You will load/unload, inspect, and log hours per DOT rules, and communicate with Dispatch to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 23 years old.
  • Current valid Class A CDL with Haz-Mat.
  • 2 years CDL experience required and ability to pass MVR check.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate basic computer/communication devices.

Responsibilities

  • Operate within 100 miles of the terminal and perform loading/unloading.
  • Document and log hours per DOT regulations and manifests.
  • Load, unload and secure loads; follow shipping documents to delivery points.
  • Maintain safe, compliant operation and communicate with Dispatch.
  • Represent the company professionally and complete other duties as assigned.

Job SummaryThe primary range of the City Driver is to operate within 100 miles of the terminal. City Drivers drop, hook, spot, or otherwise interchange equipment for loading or unloading at various locations under varied conditions. City Drivers are subject to the Hours-of-Service Regulations of the United States Department of TransportationPrivate Fleet HighlightsScheduled HOME DAILY, Monday – Friday ScheduleNo Touch FreightPrivate Fleet with dedicated routesLarge percentage of routes are drop and hook.Hourly pay with Overtime after 40 hoursModern full-service Lease equipment with automatic transmissionsPaid Safety Training as well as Orientation TrainingPaid Quarterly Safety BonusSatellite Radio, company discounts, paid sick days, paid personal and vacation days, and paid holidays.ResponsibilitiesTransport and deliver freight locally in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.Perform required inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment regularly, and document and refer defects/repairs to manager and maintenance representative.Ensure that all operations are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.Accurately document and log work/rest periods in company assigned ELD (Electronic Logging Device)Safely load and unload all equipment/materials when needed over and properly secure all loads.Understands and carries out instructions given orally and in writing, including those on manifests, bills of lading, and other shipping documents to determine the location and time of delivery.Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for the secure and safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV)Complete all necessary paperwork including shipping and billing documents and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.Frequently communicates with Dispatch/Operations, in person or by tablet or telephone, in order to advise of movements, problems with equipment, cargo, delays, etc.Represent the Company in a professional manner.Complete other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum of 23 years of ageMust have and maintain a current valid commercial driver’s license.2 years’ CDL experience required.License must be Class A with Haz-Mat CertificationMust Pass MVR check.Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs.Basic knowledge of computer/communication devices are preferred. This includes the ability to navigate using a tablet, notebook, iPad, laptop, etc. as well as experience with personal email.Physical Demands / Working EnvironmentLifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry objects of varying weights, typically 25 to 50 pounds or more, depending on the job duties.Pushing and Pulling: Capability to push and pull carts, pallet jacks, or other equipment loaded with materials throughout the warehouse. This may involve pushing or pulling heavy loads over extended distances or up ramps.Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often for the duration of a shift. Warehouse employees need to be able to move around the warehouse facility to pick orders, stock shelves, or perform other tasks.Bending and Stooping: Capacity to bend, stoop, squat, and reach to retrieve items from shelves, bins, or storage racks. Employees need the ability to access items throughout the warehouse at various heights and angles.Climbing: Can climb ladders or stairs to access elevated storage areas or perform maintenance tasks. Warehouse employees need to have the capacity to work at heights to include open floor mezzanines and follow safety protocols for ladder use.Operating Equipment: Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers. Depending on the job role, employees must pass certification or training programs to operate certain equipment safely. Manual Dexterity: Ability to use hands and fingers to handle small objects, operate machinery controls, and perform tasks requiring precision and accuracy. This may include picking and packing items, labeling products, or assembling shipments.Repetitive Motion: Ability to perform repetitive tasks, such as scanning barcodes, sorting items, or packaging products, throughout the shift. Employees should be able to maintain productivity while performing repetitive motions safely.Physical Endurance: Stamina and endurance to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity targets. Warehouse employees need to have the capacity to work long hours, weekends, or overtime during peak periods.Safety Awareness: Commitment to following safety protocols and guidelines to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
