Job summary

DCTA is seeking a CDL Bus Operator Trainee in Lewisville, TX to join the CDL licensing program and progress to a CDL Bus Operator. The role requires successful classroom and behind-the-wheel training, obtaining a CDL permit, and passing Texas DPS exams to earn a Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement.

Trainees must be available to work all shifts, including holidays, and complete the required probationary period during licensing.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older and able to obtain a Texas Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement.
• High school diploma or GED required; clean driving record.
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience; prior driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate agency transit vehicles in revenue and non-revenue service with safety and reliability.
• Develop defensive driving skills and maintain an on-time schedule.
• Collect fares, assist passengers, and report any incidents promptly.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and provide accurate logs and reports.
