Job Summary:

All drivers run daily routes with frequent stops, load packages onto hand trucks, and unload product at each stop in the designated order. The candidate will operate successfully in a cross-dock model, picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery and returning the empty truck at the end of the route. May assist with loading trucks, palletizing, and other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.
2. Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated times.
3. Unload product from trailers, using hand carts, and place in designated areas, often in all weather conditions.
4. Frequently lift, push, or move products weighing 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds; reach up to 72” to stack/unstack pallets; bend and twist during loading/unloading.
5. Verify deliveries with customers, obtain signatures, and communicate discrepancies or errors.
6. Report if a customer does not receive the full order.
7. Handle customer complaints professionally.
8. Operate company equipment properly, follow safety rules, and perform pre-trip inspections per DOT regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience: At least one year of route delivery experience or relevant driving background with a straight truck. Valid Commercial Driver’s License – Class B (Class A preferred).

Skills: Ability to operate vehicle in various traffic/weather conditions, meet productivity and error goals, communicate effectively, and develop knowledge of products and inventory control. Good customer service, organization, and communication skills are essential.

Other Information:

Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs., infrequent lifting to 80 lbs.; ability to climb on/off truck, work in confined spaces, and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling.
