Job summary

Sysco Corp. in Poway, CA seeks an experienced delivery driver to run daily routes, make frequent stops, and load/unload products at each stop in the order designated by the Transportation Department Manager.

You will operate in a cross-dock model, picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery and returning the empty truck to the lot at the end of the route. Role requires lifting 50–75 pounds, climbing on/off truck, and performing occasional loading tasks.

Qualifications

• One year of route delivery experience or straight-truck driving.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License – Class B; Class A preferred.
• Ability to read and speak English to converse with customers and complete records.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.
• Runs routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times.
• Unload product from trailer, by hand or with a hand cart, and place in designated customer storage areas.
• Transport product down ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions as needed.
• Verify delivery with customer and obtain signatures; report discrepancies or returns.
• Call in when a customer does not receive their entire order.
• Handle company equipment properly and perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections per DOT and Sysco policies.
