Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking delivery drivers to operate tractor trailer or straight trucks in Springfield, MO, delivering and unloading food products to customers with DOT compliance. The role requires a CDL B, clean MVR, drug/background checks, and physical ability to lift loads.

Qualifications

• 6+ months commercial driving experience.
• High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent.
• Valid CDL B with airbrakes endorsement.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspect tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues and required repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; report hazards.
• Inspect trailer for proper loading and secured freight.
• Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices.
• Complete required paperwork accurately.
• Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders per route schedule.
• Unload products at customer locations and store in designated areas.
• Coordinate sign-offs, collect payments when applicable.
• Ensure equipment and freight are secured and locked.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs per DOT and company rules.
• Maintain clean/clear trailers and loading dock areas.
• Finish shift with all paperwork filed and equipment secured.
