Job summary

Adams Construction Company in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a CDL Class B truck driver to operate multi-axle highway equipment with GVWR over 26,001 pounds. You will load, transport and unload construction materials to job sites, follow schedules, verify material types and weights, and communicate with fellow drivers to ensure timetabled deliveries.

You will also perform routine truck maintenance, stay safety-conscious, and complete required pre-employment screenings including a DOT physical.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Possess a Class “B” commercial license with proper endorsements
• Must possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
• Must have a valid DOT physical
• Must successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug screen, background check
• Must have minimum one (1) year prior driving experience with references.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maneuver equipment to load, transport and unload construction materials and other related equipment by manipulating various gears, levers and attachments.
• Follow schedule for pickup and delivery of materials and verify material types and weights.
• Communicate with other equipment operators and truck drivers to ensure deliveries meet job specs and timetables.
• Keep truck clean and in good working order.
• Perform minor repairs and servicing to maintain safety and operation on a day-to-day basis.
