Performance Bonus: Drivers in good standing with the company will receive $1,000 after 90 days of employment and another $1,000 after 180 days of employment.
We are currently seeking a reliable and responsible Driver - CDL B to support our West Haven, CT facility and product delivery operations.
Schedule: 7:30am to 4:00pm ET Monday-Friday
You will help load the company truck and transport Wurth Baer Supply products to customers when needed. The cargo consists of cabinets, hardware, wood/laminate, and lacquer/finish. You will use an app via a company-provided cell phone to plan your route. As one of the most often seen representatives of the Company, you will conduct yourself in a positive and friendly manner and provide quality service with each delivery. When needed, you will assist with general warehouse operations (receiving, picking, etc.).
An essential function of this role requires employees to lift and lower packages that may weigh up to 70 pounds. Attention to safety is vital, the use of proper lifting and lowering techniques should be used at all times. You may also need to become accustomed to the fluctuating temperatures in which you will perform your duties. As this position is customer-facing, an excellent customer focus attitude is critical for success.
Stops/Schedule/Truck: Must have experience using 10-speed manual transmission. You will drive a 26-foot curtain-side truck. Drivers may work 7:30am-4:00pm, but sometimes starting a bit earlier and staying a bit later depending on traffic, weather, and unload speeds. Stops range from 2 to 10 per day in a 200-mile radius. Must be comfortable with hand-unloads as needed to assist customers with cabinetry or plywood products up to 70lbs and utilizing sit-down forklift to load your own truck before your daily route.
