Job description

Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour
Sign on Bonus: $2000

Job Summary

Responsible for delivery and pickup of containers to and/or from customer locations; ensure effective and incident-free delivery or pickup while maintaining excellent rapport with customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Drive and operate a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers safely, following all safety rules.
  2. Perform and log daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the commercial vehicle and lift.
  3. Accept additional deliveries as required to meet business needs.
  4. Use company handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation.
  5. Operate a forklift and/or an overhead crane.
  6. Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for delivery.
  7. Coordinate rental paperwork and payments with customers.
  8. Communicate with the Driver Lead or Market Manager regarding customer questions or issues; prepare driver notes as needed.
  9. Perform repairs of containers and lifts in the field and at the storage center.
  10. Provide backup for storage center functions when needed.
  11. Maintain cleanliness of the truck cab, both inside and outside.
  12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Management & Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Typically reports to Management, such as the Market Manager or Territory Manager.
  • This role is not directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring, termination, performance management).
Qualifications: Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CDL Class B License without air brake restriction.
  • Must maintain a current/valid driver license.
  • Must meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards.
  • Must be at least 21 years old (insurance requirement).
  • Possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain a minimum of a 1-year certification (DOT requirement).
  • Experience with electronic equipment and software preferred.
  • Proficient in basic math skills.
  • Ability to attend a required 2-week New Hire Driver Training Program.
