Job summary

midland-a division of union state bank is seeking a local CDL B driver to transport goods within the Plainfield area. You will drive vehicles over 26,001 pounds gross weight, load and unload with a forklift, and ensure accurate delivery documentation.

The role requires at least two years of route driving, a clean driving record, and the ability to drive at night. It offers full-time employment with standard weekday hours and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Drive any combination of vehicles with GVW of 26,001 or more pounds, to transport and deliver goods, or materials in palletized or packaged form. May require use of automated routing equipment.Requires Class B commercial driver's license. The truck wis a 26ft tandem axle straight truck with an automatic transmission.

You will be asked to load the truck using a propane sit down forklift and the driver will be required to unload at the customer site.


The hours for this position are Monday through Friday starting at 6:00am.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*

  • Check vehicles before and after driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Obtain receipts or signatures when loads are delivered, and collect payment for services when required.
  • Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  • Read bills of ladding to determine assignment details.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
  • Read and interpret maps in order to determine vehicle routes.
  • Operate equipment such as truck cab computers and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
  • Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any powered MHE equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary.
  • Responsible for following all safety rules and policies as outlined by the Dept. of Transportation and communicated by Midland management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Two or more years related experience

Education: High School Graduate or GED

Certifications & Licenses: Class B Commercial Driver's License

Other Requirements: Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical. Must have a clean driving record. Must be able to drive at night.
