Job summary

FedEx Logistics is seeking a yard switcher to move trailers from the yard to load/unload doors and throughout the yard, and may assist with manual loading, unloading and sorting of packages.

The role requires a valid CDL Class A and DOT file, the ability to follow safety procedures, and strong communication for teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Schedule starts at midnight and is full-time.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
• CDL Class A license required to operate in interstate commerce.
• Ability to understand and follow safety instructions and work duties.
• Ability to discern numbers/information to sort packages correctly.
• Experience with basic tools and equipment like skate wheel rollers, dock carts and hand-held scanners.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs trailer switches by hooking and moving trailers between yard and doors.
• Coordinates trailer movements with management or central control.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Adheres to yard switching safety processes and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
