Job summary

Europastry USA is seeking a CDL Class A Yard Jockey to join our Northeast logistics team in New York. The role combines driving, yard jockeying and warehouse tasks to ensure timely deliveries and accurate handling of freight.

You will operate CDL A vehicles for local and regional routes, manage yard movements, assist with loading and sequencing pallets, and uphold safety and quality standards across our operations. This hands-on position offers growth within a fast-paced bakery supply network.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A License (required).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in driving, warehouse, or yard jockey roles.
• Experience with reefer equipment/trailers preferred.
• Strong communication skills; bilingual a plus.
• Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CDL Class A vehicles for local and regional deliveries.
• Maintain accurate logbooks in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Ensure timely delivery of customer loads and communicate delays proactively.
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with customer staff.
• Safely maneuver trailers within the yard to support loading and dispatch operations.
• Operate yard jockey equipment efficiently and responsibly.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing freight.
• Ensure high pick accuracy for mixed pallet orders.
• Use handheld devices and warehouse tools effectively.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, GMP regulations, and OSHA standards.
• Participate in mandatory in-house Food Safety Training and understand SQF code requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Delivery:

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a fast-paced environment allergen-sensitive environment
• Comfortability with high heights.
• Comfortable working in hot, cold, wet, humid, and loud environments.
• Exposure to moving machinery, chemicals, and elevated work areas.
• Must wear PPE including safety shoes and hearing protection.
