US Foods in Perth Amboy, NJ is seeking a Yard Jockey with a CDL Class A to help coordinate trailer movements and support nightly shuttle operations.

You will work with Dispatchers and mechanics, couple and prepare equipment, load and unload trailers, and participate in safety meetings. Minimum six months CDL experience and English communication required; 21+ years old.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL Class A with required endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.

As a Yard Jockey CDL, you’ll be at the heart of operations, expertly coordinating the movement and management of trailers. Your effective communication and proactive approach will be key in collaborating with Dispatchers, Warehouse Supervisors, and mechanics to maintain seamless workflow and operational excellence. **Key Responsibilities*** **Communicate & Collaborate:**Coordinate with Dispatchers for assignments and work with mechanics on equipment needs.* **Couple & Prepare:**Ensure equipment is coupled, ready for use, and prepared for nightly shuttle operations.* **Move & Load:**Safely relocate, load, and unload trailers between buildings and environments.* **Stage & Set Up:**Configure trailers for backhaul and position them for quick unloading.* **Engage:**Attend required meetings and adapt to additional duties as necessary, ensuring a safe work environment.* **Adaptability:** All other duties assigned by management. **Physical Requirements*** Lift/carry/push/pull/lower 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required.* Driving & working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required.* Continuously grasp objects & manipulate objects.
