The role starts through a temporary agency for 60-90 days with a transition to permanent employment and pay increase. Responsibilities include operating a semi-truck and forklift, performing safety inspections, securing loads, labeling shipments, coordinating with production and logistics, and maintaining DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with a 5-year clean driving record.
• Experience driving semi-trucks, flatbeds and trailers preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.
• Forklift operation certification preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive a semi-truck safely to transport galvanized materials between site locations.
• Utilize a forklift for loading and unloading and secure loads on trucks.
• Conduct daily safety inspections of equipment.
• Securely fasten loads to prevent shifting and damage during transport.
• Prepare, package, and label loads for transport and delivery.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and shop personnel.
• Assist in inventory checks and materials availability.
• Coordinate with production and logistics to optimize schedules.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations during transport and operations.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and report issues.
