Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking CDL A City P&D Drivers for our Kearny, NJ Service Center. You will perform city deliveries and pickups with multiple stops daily and return to the terminal each day.

This full-time role runs Monday–Friday with various shifts. Drivers operate scanning equipment, work with customers, and may perform liftgate deliveries using an electric pallet jack. PTO after 90 days and an excellent benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required.
• At least 1 year verifiable Class A driving in the last 3 years.
• Strong MVR/PSP with minimal violations.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen.
• Must be able to perform road test and lift/move loads.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pickup freight in the city and return to the terminal daily.
• Handle multiple stops per day and use scanning equipment.
• Interact with customers and assist with liftgate deliveries via electric pallet jack.

R+L Carriers has immediate opportunities for CDL A City P&D Drivers at our Kearny, NJ Service Center. As a City P&D Driver you will be responsible for city delivery and pickup of freight and returning to the terminal daily. This includes multiple stops per working day, working with scanning equipment, working directly with customers, and completing potential liftgate deliveries using an electric pallet jack.

Requirements

• CDL Class A
• 1 yr. combined verifiable Class A driving experience within the past 3 years
• Good driving record / MVR and PSP, with no commercial serious violations and no more than 3 moving violations total within the past 3 years.
• Age 23, 21 if successfully met the FMCSA specs to transition from military to civilian CDL
• Must be able to operate equipment safely at all times
• Must be able to pass pre-employment DOT Physical and drug screen
• Must be able to complete a successful road test
• M ust be able to bend, lift and stoop without difficulty
• Must be dependable

Preferred

• Drivers with Doubles/Triples, Tanker, and Haz-mat CDL endorsements
• Experienced hauling Haz-mat
• Local delivery experienceLTL experience
• Electric pallet jack experience
