Job summary

CMC is seeking qualified truck drivers to join our team in Dallas, TX. You will deliver products to customers, perform safety inspections, and communicate with dispatch to ensure on-time loads. Training on ELDs and safety systems is provided.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
• Ability to speak and understand English in verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while giving and receiving feedback.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• No DUI/DWI within the past five years.
• At least 1 year of verified tractor-trailer experience (3 years flatbed OTR preferred).
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements.
• Ability to pass DOT physicals and drug testing.
• No more than one moving violation in the past three years.
• Ability to learn new tasks and adapt to changing requirements.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing stairs/ladders, working with chains/straps, inspections.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in harsh environments.

Responsibilities

• Complete delivery paperwork and communicate load or timing issues with dispatch, sales, and customers.
• Conduct daily pre-trip, inter-trip, and post-trip inspections of truck and cargo.
• Deliver products to customers, contractors, and jobsites within the region.
• Follow all safety rules and wear PPE.
• Inventory and inspect products to confirm quantity and condition.
• Load, secure, and deliver cargo safely and on time.
• Maintain vehicle service and repair logs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Operate vehicles using ELDs and safety dashcams (training provided).
• Perform loading tasks including chaining, strapping, tarping, trailer hooking/unhooking, and safe ascending/descending.
• Perform additional duties to ensure safe transportation per federal and state safety regulations.
• Work flexible hours based on business needs.
