The Truck Driver is responsible for operating trucks to transport dirt, aggregate, asphalt, and other materials and/or equipment to various job site locations. Work also includes yard tasks such as stockpiling and moving materials. This is a skilled position requiring safe and efficient operation of equipment with work performed under supervisor guidance. Class A CDL license required.

Essential Functions and Duties

1. Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
2. Follow all company policies and DOT/FMCSA regulations.
3. Follow the Foreman's instructions regarding daily tasks and project expectations.
4. Drive trucks equipped with dump bodies to transport and dump materials.
5. Perform safety checks on the vehicle before operation.
6. Monitor vehicle condition, including tires, lights, and fluid levels.
7. Operate vehicle safely, exhibiting defensive driving skills.
8. Obey weight limits and keep vehicle clean and free of obstructions.
9. Operate controls for tarping loads, raising/lowering dump beds, and tailgate spreaders.
10. Perform manual unloading and clean the truck bed after use.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Monitor dash gauges and vehicle surroundings.
2. Maintain communication via company radio.
3. Complete daily logs and reports per regulations.
4. Inspect vehicles for defects and report issues.
5. Assist with manual labor such as shoveling or material handling as needed.
6. Adhere to all safety and company policies.
7. Perform physical activities including lifting up to 100 pounds and manual tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years truck driving experience, preferably in road construction.
• Valid CDL License with current Medical Examiner's Certificate.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
• Legal right to work in the United States.
