Responsibilities

As a Transport Driver, you will operate an 11,400-gallon tanker truck to pick up propane at supply points such as refineries, pipeline terminals, or storage facilities, and deliver it to AmeriGas facilities. You will make four to five pickups and deliveries daily, averaging 500 miles per day, working up to 14 hours. About 80% of your time is spent driving or waiting in line. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Driving the tanker to pickup and deliver propane; loading/unloading takes approximately 45 minutes.
• Attaching terminal hoses to the truck connections for pumping propane.
• Unloading the tanker using hoses stored on the truck, which come in two sizes: 20 feet long (3 inches diameter) and 19 feet long (1.5 inches diameter).
• Performing twice-daily truck inspections.
• Climbing ladders at some facilities to check gauges on bulk tanks.

Requirements

• 3 years of tractor-trailer experience with at least 200,000 miles.
• Preferred: 1 year of tanker experience within the last 3 years.
• Hazmat and tanker endorsements.
• Eligible for a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
• No accidents in the past 3 years.
• No more than one moving violation in the past 2 years.
