Job summary

NIS Express in Gadsden, AL is hiring CDL-A Trainees with paid training. No road experience required; you will start with a personal trainer who rides with you and teaches you, and you earn a paycheck during the training period.

The training lasts 3 to 5 weeks; 70% of trips are no-touch dry van with drop and hook. You will drive late-model Freightliner or Kenworth trucks, regional routes east of I-35, and enjoy weekly pay, company-paid life insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and clean driving record.
• 21 years of age or older.
• 120+ hours completed at an accredited CDL school.
• Must pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class A tractor-trailer in full compliance with DOT regulations.
• No-touch dry van freight; 70% drop and hook.
• Complete accurate ELD logs and trip documentation daily.
• Inspect vehicle before and after every run.
• Maintain professional communication with dispatch and customers.
