Job summary

Irving Oil is seeking a Tractor Trailer Driver in Maine to deliver petroleum products safely to commercial and retail sites. You will load, drive, and inspect trucks, follow DOT regulations, and collaborate with Dispatch to optimize routes. A valid CDL A with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, plus 2 years of trucking experience, are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Commercial Transportation experience preferred.
• Liquid loads experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Irving Oil products to various locations within the geographic area.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Review and plan daily routes with Dispatch to improve efficiency.
• Safely load and unload products from storage facilities.
• Monitor trucks, conditions, and safety; report hazards to management.
• Complete daily shift reports and required paperwork.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, inside and out.

Job description

As a Tractor Trailer Driver, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of petroleum products to commercial and retail sites. Your goal will be to provide a meaningful and essential service to our customers in a safety focused environment. Your success will depend on your ability to adhere to daily routes, load the fuel truck, and complete pre-and post-trip inspections while maintaining all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and procedures.

Your Responsibilities

• Deliver Irving Oil Products to various locations within the required geographical locations
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is performing to the required standards
• Review and plan daily routes while collaborating with our Dispatch team to improve the efficiency of routes
• Safely load and unload products from storage facilities while adhering to all safety policies and procedures
• Continuously evaluate and make safety decisions on trucks, conditions, products, sites, deliveries, leaks, and any other situations in which the driver feels there may be a safety issue. Report all hazards or unsafe situations that cannot be corrected on their own to the Manager
• Complete daily shift reports and all required paperwork with accurate information
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle – inside & outside

Your Experience

• A valid CDL Class A Driver’s License with Hazmat & Tanker endorsements
• High school diploma or G.E.D. required
• Minimum 2 years Commercial Transportation experience
• Previous experience with liquid loads is considered an asset

The expected hourly range for this position is $32.50-$35.50. Placement within range will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, and skills.
