Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking a CDL-A Track Equipment Operator in Kansas City, MO. The role focuses on operating heavy equipment for railroad track maintenance, repair, and construction, with substantial overtime and on-call requirements.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, equipment transport, and assisting with derailment recovery. Candidates must be able to travel locally and provide hands-on maintenance when needed.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license required and driving record must be clean.
• Ability to perform demanding physical work outdoors.
• Willingness to travel for local and out-of-area assignments.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies at any time, including nights and weekends.
• Must complete required safety trainings and certifications.
• Experience with basic mechanical tasks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect trucks, trailers, and equipment before and after trips.
• Operate tractors and other heavy equipment when qualified.
• Assist with track maintenance, repairs, and construction activities.
• Support emergency derailment response and recovery operations.
• Travel to job sites and manage equipment transportation and staging.
• Participate in safety briefings and daily planning.
