Job summary

Qualdoc in Candor, NC seeks an experienced CDL-A Equipment Laborer to support railroad emergency response and track-related operations. You will load, transport, and operate heavy equipment to job sites and assist with rerailing and track construction.

This full-time direct-hire role offers guaranteed hours, significant overtime, and benefits, with 24/7 on-call availability for emergencies.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license with a good driving record.
• Experience in construction labor or a similar physically demanding role.
• Ability to pass required qualification tests, including safety programs.
• 24/7 availability to respond to emergency calls, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment in accordance with company policy and D.O.T. regulations.
• Drive tractor-trailers to and from job sites while inspecting loads and machinery being transported.
• Verify transportation permits to ensure specifications for overweight and oversize loads/equipment are accurate.
• Participate in daily work-plan discussions to promote safety and efficiency.
• Move, stage, load, and unload materials and equipment for rerailing, load adjustment/transfer, track maintenance, track repair, and new track construction.
• Reload equipment and materials for safe transportation following completion of assignments.
