Job summary

Standard Logistics seeks a professional truck driver to safely operate inter-city and combination units, transporting freight between terminals and home terminals. Load and unload freight, verify against bills of lading, and ensure on-time delivery while complying with DOT and company policies.

You will perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, plan routes with GPS to minimize fuel use, and coordinate with dispatch to resolve delays. A valid Class A CDL and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Intrastate and Interstate Driving Experience Required.
• Must pass a pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol screen.
• Clean driving record
• Class A CDL License for their state of residence Required

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre-trip inspections and post-trip inspections on vehicles and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating conditions prior to departure.
• Check shipping papers and bills of lading to verify load details and ensure complete documentation.
• Operate vehicles in compliance with DOT, OSHA, state and federal safety regulations and company rules.
• Plan or adjust routes using GPS to minimize fuel consumption and meet delivery windows.
• Load and unload freight, secure equipment for transport, and verify trailer condition after unloading.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers about delays or problems and report incidents or defects promptly.
• Maintain Driver's Record of Duty Status in accordance with regulations.
• Follow safety procedures for transporting heavy equipment and wide loads.
