Job summary

Standard Logistics is seeking a professional driver to operate inter-city tractor-trailers and transport freight between terminals and home locations. You will load and unload, verify freight with bills of lading, and ensure on-time, damage-free delivery while following DOT and company policies.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, route planning with GPS, safe loading, maintaining logs, and communicating delays to dispatch. A valid Class A CDL is required.

Qualifications

• Intrastate and Interstate Driving Experience Required
• Must pass a pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol screen
• Clean driving record
• Class A CDL License for their state of residence Required

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre-trip inspections and post-trip inspections on vehicles and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating conditions prior to departure.
• Operate vehicles in compliance with DOT, OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations, company rules and all applicable laws.
• Plan routes using computer equipment and GPS to minimize fuel consumption and ensure timely deliveries.
• Load and unload freight and verify against bills of lading and manifest.
• Maintain Driver's Record of Duty Status in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Secure equipment and freight for transport with tarps, chains, binders, and straps.
