Job summary

Helicopter Applicators Inc. in Gettysburg, PA seeks an experienced driver with a CDL A/B to operate tanker-equipped trucks for remote spray jobs. The role requires hazmat and tanker endorsements, plus ability to pass drug tests and background checks.

Expect travel across the east coast, overtime, and overnight stays as seasonal demand dictates. Responsibilities include safe truck operation, daily maintenance, chemical handling, and coordinating with pilots to ensure efficient spray operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• CDL Class A (preferred) or B.
• Current or willingness to obtain tanker, air-brake, and hazmat endorsements.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing and a background check.
• Current or willingness to obtain state pesticide certifications (training paid).
• Prior spray application or mixing is a plus.
• Team player with HAI employees and outside personnel.
• Willing to travel on short notice and for extended periods.
• Willing to work overtime, including weekends; overnight trips to off-site locations.

Responsibilities

• Operate company equipment safely and in compliance with all federal, state, DOT regulations.
• Navigate trucks to off-road/remote landing zones using GPS/maps; load/unload and assist pilots.
• Perform daily equipment maintenance and inspections; report items to management.
• Keep equipment clean; assist with washing aircraft and trucks; prevent spills.
• Log daily chemical use; manage chemical inventory and quantities.
• Organize daily workload; communicate plans with customers.
• Manage digital transfer of spray files; ensure accessibility for trucks.
• Plan and organize bulk water purchases; ensure accessibility to remote spray locations.
• Lift up to 50 lbs overhead and move/handle heavy hoses; perform repetitive tasks.
