Job summary

Oldcastle APG, Inc. is hiring a CDL A licensed driver to haul cement and mortar for the production process. Local deliveries with home every night are required, with space for occasional aggregate or finished product moves. A clean MVR and DOT medical card are necessary.

Responsibilities include safe operation of tractor-trailer, load supervision, and maintaining delivery records while interacting with dispatch and customers in a professional manner.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must hold a CDL Class A license with tanker endorsement.
  • At least 2 years of current CDL experience preferred.
  • Clean MVR and strong safety record are required.
  • Good communication and reliability for daily routing.

Responsibilities

  • Transport cement, mortar, and other materials in a safe and timely manner.
  • Perform raw material bulk pickups using pneumatic tanker.
  • Work with Dispatch and Production to maintain proper levels.
  • Assist loading to ensure proper order and weight distribution.
  • Maintain records including logs and delivery documentation.
  • Navigate an Android tablet using ELD and email.
  • Maintain good customer relations and safety standards.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections and report issues promptly.
  • Handle shipping documents and signatures as required.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the hauling of cement/mortar supplying the production process of concrete products. In some instances, the drivers may be required to haul aggregates with end dump or belly dump as well as finished product on a flatbed. Current CDL A license and clean MVR are required. Local deliveries and home every night.


Job Responsibilities


  • Transport cement, mortar, and other materials in a safe and timely manner

  • Performing raw material bulk pickups using a pneumatic tanker (no tanker endorsement required)

  • Working with Dispatch and Production personnel to maintain proper levels

  • Assist and supervise loading of truck to ensure proper order and weight distribution

  • Receive from Dispatch, load assignments and any special instructions and follow them to the detail

  • Maintain complete and accurate records such as drivers' daily truck log, fuel tickets, delivery documentation, and any other required documents according to state and federal regulations

  • Able to navigate Android tablet using ELD and email

  • Maintain good customer relations, both internal and external

  • Perform detailed pre-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and report immediately any concerns or problems

  • Obtain shipping bills and necessary signatures and return completed paperwork to appropriate parties

  • Operate tractor-trailer/vehicle according to state and federal laws and observing all safety regulations established by the company, OSHA, MSHA and the Department of Motor Vehicles

  • Provide and document proper routine maintenance of assigned truck and loading/unloading equipment

  • Survey job area and unload cargo in the best area available in a safe manner

  • Develop good knowledge of materials handled

  • Monitor and immediately report problems with assigned equipment operations, product quality, customer satisfaction

  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

  • High school diploma / equivalent

  • Experience with pneumatic trailers a plus

  • Tanker endorsement

  • Must have CDL Class A

  • At least 2 years of current CDL experience preferred

  • Clean MVR

  • Detail-oriented

  • Must have good communication skills

  • Good knowledge of the product for product quality assurance

  • Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality

  • Demonstrates the willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed

  • Basic mechanical skills

  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds

  • Current DOT physical

  • Employee is frequently required to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and bend
