Job summary

Ben E. Keith Shuttle Driver Trainee DOT (Beaumont, TX) seeks a candidate to train in safe daily route pickup and delivery, loading and returning empty trailers, and maintaining equipment.

You will learn to operate within FMCSA rules, fuel management, and on-board systems while supporting a large food and beverage distribution network. The role requires a GED or high school diploma, 6 months DOT driving experience, and a valid Class A CDL with a Doubles endorsement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) Preferred
• At least 6 months of DOT driving experience required
• Valid Class A CDL with Doubles endorsement
• Knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations required
• Ability to read and interpret rules/guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions
• Good computer skills
• Ability to learn internal applications i.e.… On-Board Computer and Proof of Delivery equipment
• Able to work outside in extreme temperatures (cold and hot)
• Ability to follow instructions and take direction
• Must be able to lift and move dolly tongue and cases weighing up to 90 pounds occasionally

Responsibilities

• Train to perform as a safe and courteous shuttle driver and demonstrate BEK principles during interactions with the public and customers.
• Maintain cleanliness of tractors/trailers used during the shift to ensure the upkeep and overall condition of equipment.
• Always adhere to all FMCSA laws and regulations to demonstrate compliance.
• Ensure trailers and tractors are adequately fueled and fuel levels are consistently maintained on equipment used at the warehouse or shuttle site.
• Occasionally complete deliveries to customers to/from the warehouse or shuttle site as needed.
