Job summary

Performance Food Group is hiring a Shuttle Driver to transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers on intrastate and interstate routes. You will operate tandem, tractor, or straight trucks, adhering to DOT regulations and company policies.

The role requires safe driving, ability to lift up to 90 pounds, and flexibility for a Sunday-Thursday night schedule. Competitive benefits begin Day 1 and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
• 12 months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday -Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from approximately 60 to 90 pounds, depending on the location.

Responsibilities

• Performs all required safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations.
• Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required.
• Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies and reports hazards.
• Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Ensures route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available to driver upon dispatch.
• Drives and delivers trailers according to predetermined route schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Ensures equipment and freight are secured.
• Collects and secures damaged goods and returns to base, completing paperwork.
• Unloads all equipment and remove trash from trailers.
• Completes daily log of hours of service per DOT and company requirements.
• Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keeps trailers clean.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
