Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Route Driver to operate a semi-truck or vacuum truck for collecting animal mortalities, fat, bone, or grease from customer locations. Responsibilities depend on plant location and include safety checks and DOT logging.

The role requires a CDL A with tanker endorsements, a clean 21+ MVRB, and flexibility to work nights or weekends. Strong customer service and compliance with regulations are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old with clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• CDL A with tanker endorsements required.
• Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/.

Responsibilities

• Collects and inspects raw material at pickup for foreign or hazardous material at customer location.
• May pump or load grease containers depending on plant location; ensure cleanliness and proper disposal.
• Maintain an Electronic DOT log.
• Provide receipt of pickup and obtain signature of management at location.
• Responsible for company vehicle; maintain vehicle in clean condition and operate per regulations.
• Perform safety checks and inspections of the vehicle; operate under regulations and company policy.
• Complete vehicle condition reports daily and comply with safety standards.
• Maintain excellent customer relations by delivering quality, professional service.
• Complete all required paperwork (route tickets, vehicle inspections, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms) daily.
• Work the established route and attend safety meetings.
• Additional duties as assigned.
