Job summary

American Driver LLC seeks a regional CDL A driver based out of Stockton, CA. You will have your own assigned truck with dedicated freight on familiar lanes, primarily Stockton to Salt Lake City, Eureka, Billings and Idaho Falls.

Expect mostly no-touch loads, weekly home time, and an upfront orientation process. Average earnings per driver on this account are around $1,538 weekly, with base pay of $18/hour plus mileage and stop-pay bonuses, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class A CDL and be 21+ years old.
• 3 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience in last 6 months with one carrier, or 12 months in last 5 years.
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing with no positive tests in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Operate a dedicated regional route with assigned truck.
• Load handling: mostly no-touch freight; drop and hook or live unload.
• Maintain chains for winter conditions on mountain lanes and perform backhauls to Stockton.
• Follow schedule: Wednesday to Sunday, 2 PM start, 10–12 hour days, ~5 nights out weekly.

Pay and Schedule Breakdown

• Average Earnings: $1,538 a week, about $80,000 a year, based on what drivers on this account earned over the last 6 to 12 months
• Base Pay: $18 per hour for all hours worked. When your activity pay adds up to more, you get the difference as a weekly bonus
• Mileage: starts at $0.58 per mile and increases $0.01 each year up to $0.62, on about 2,400 miles per week, which is $1,392 from miles alone at the starting rate
• Stop Pay: $20 per stop
• Other Accounts: $280 per day when you run for a nearby account
• Holiday Pay: 6 paid holidays at $250 per day
• New Hire Training: $200 per day
• Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday, 2 PM start, 10 to 12 hour days, averaging 5 nights out per week
• Extra Day: optional 6th day on another account for more pay

The Work

• Freight: appliance loads for a major retailer in 53 foot dry vans from the Stockton distribution center, mostly to Salt Lake City and Eureka
• Backhauls: pick up at the receiver and bring it back to Stockton
• Other Accounts: about 1 day per week helping nearby accounts, a mix of touch and no touch freight
• Mountain Lanes: must be able to chain up when the weather calls for it
• Holidays: this account runs on holidays

Requirements

• At least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL
• 3 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 6 months with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years
• Able to chain tires in winter conditions
• No more than 2 moving violations and no careless or reckless driving in the last 3 years
• No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years and no major preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing, with no failed drug or alcohol test in the last 5 years
