Job summary

Jamie Tharpe Trucking is seeking CDL-A drivers for a full-time OTR role based in Birmingham, AL. You’ll haul 100% no-touch dry van freight with 90% drop-and-hook, averaging 2,500–3,000 miles weekly and 34–48 hour resets.

Drivers receive newer tractors with inverters and refrigerators, remote onboarding, hotel stay before pickup, and onboarding pay. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) and potential lane opportunities with continued operations support.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 months of tractor trailer experience in the last year or 1 year of tractor trailer experience within the last 3 years is required.
• Drivers must possess a valid CDL-A license, current medical card, and maintain a Clearinghouse record free of violations.
• Applicants must also have 12 months of safe driving following a safety termination.

Responsibilities

• Operate 2,500–3,000 miles weekly on 100% no-touch dry van freight.
• Follow practical OTR scheduling with support from operations.
• Most routes operate East of I-35, with occasional deviations based on customer needs.

Drivers average 2,500 to 3,000 miles weekly while hauling 100% no-touch dry van freight with 90% drop and hook loads. Most routes operate East of I-35, although drivers may occasionally run outside that area based on customer needs.

Drivers are assigned newer high-quality tractors equipped with inverters and refrigerators for added comfort while on the road. Dry van trailers and Qualcomm Elogs are provided, and approved riders are welcome through the rider policy program.

Onboarding Process:

Remote orientation is provided before drivers are routed to the nearest terminal for truck assignment. Hotel accommodations are provided before pickup, lunch is included before dispatch, and drivers receive $200 onboarding pay.
