Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a professional driver to operate a Class A CDL vehicle transporting live poultry from growers to the processing facility. The role emphasizes safety, compliance with DOT regulations, and secure handling of loads in an outdoor environment.

The position requires vigilance, the ability to perform pre-trip inspections, and adherence to company policies. Candidates should be prepared for night and weekend shifts and extensive time behind the wheel.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A CDL with at least 1 year of verifiable driving experience.
• Knowledge of DOT safety rules and regulations including state and federal laws.
• Ability to read and write legibly.
• Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated.
• Demonstrates sound work ethic and integrity.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Department of Transportation regulations.
• Perform and document pre-trip inspections (tires, oil, fuel, lights, brakes, hoses, etc.).
• Assist with loading and unloading trailer as necessary.
• Ensure load is secure before movement.
• Maintain proper documentation (equipment, time, trips, weights, etc.).
• Clean and wash truck as necessary.
• Report truck and equipment maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Comply with DOT safety rules and company policies and all local, state, and federal laws.
• All other duties as assigned.
