Job summary

Universal Logistics is seeking Owner Operators in the Baltimore area. The role focuses on planning routes, meeting delivery schedules, and performing routine vehicle inspections to ensure safe and timely deliveries.

Drivers should have a CDL Class A, at least 6 months of tractor-trailer experience, and be prepared to obtain TWIC and Hazmat within 60 days. A clean driving record and strong communication with dispatchers are essential. Home nightly with some overnight OTR is possible.

Universal Intermodal services all major US Ports and intermodal Rail Ramps and offers domestic door-to-door drayage to and from Ports, Rails, and Customer Facilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and other expenses.
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding transportation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status.

Requirements

• 6 months or more of tractor trailer experience
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A required.
• Must obtain TWIC & Hazmat within 60 days from start date.
• Proven experience as a truck driver with a clean driving record.
• Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation tools.
• Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
