Job summary

Averitt Express is seeking a CDL-A Dedicated Local Truck Driver for a consistent, local route delivering agricultural products across KY, TN, AL, MS and AR. Typical starts 3:00–6:00 am, about 50 hours weekly, home every night with weekends off.

No-touch freight with some drop-and-hook, hazmat endorsement optional with timeframe. Excellent benefits and advancement opportunities offered by Averitt.

Qualifications

• Must live within a 75-mile radius
• Must have 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must have Class A CDL with hazmat endorsement or willing to apply within 30 days and obtain by 90 days of employment
• No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
• No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
• No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years
• No serious violations within previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense in CMV with fatality)
• No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
• No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight as required (80 lbs lift)
• Drive regular, predictable routes in the Southeast region
• Complete fuel tickets and hook/unhook trailer
• Enter/Exit a CMV and trailer safely
• Maintain regular attendance and safety inspections
