Job summary

ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, is seeking a local CDL driver in Fort Smith, AR to pickup and deliver cargo near the distribution center. Responsibilities include loading and unloading trailers and adhering to DOT rules.

Candidates need at least 1 year of tractor-trailer experience (training may be available), Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazmat endorsements, and be at least 21 with a clean driving record and able to pass drug screening.

Qualifications

• 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (training possible for candidates with less than 1 year).
• DOT pre-employment drug screening is required; DOT medical requirements must be met.
• Shift days/hours vary by location and may include days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Pickup and delivery of cargo within proximity of the distribution center.
• Load and unload trailers using standard dock procedures.
• Travel is minimal; schedule varies by service center location.

Requirements

Experience:

• 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (Candidates with less than 1 year experience may be eligible for training).

Certifications:

• Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazardous materials endorsements

Additional Requirements:

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Good stable work record.
• Safe driving record (from MVR and previous employment).
• Be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet DOT medical requirements.
• Shift days and hours required for this position vary by location and may include days, nights, and/or weekends. Being able to work the required hours at this location will be considered a minimum requirement.
