Job Description

Pickup and delivery of cargo to and from various destinations, usually within proximity of the consolidation/distribution center. The loading and unloading of trailers utilizing the same techniques, technology, and procedures as a dock worker. Duties and schedule may vary depending on terminal location.

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload cargo.
  • Perform tasks such as check-in, tractor/trailer inspection, tractor setup, and cargo pickup/delivery.
  • Exercise independent judgment for trailer setup and teardown, optimizing time, resources, and physical effort while complying with weight laws.
  • Operate a forklift as needed.
  • Complete routine paperwork accurately and log loading sheets properly.
Requirements

Education: High School Diploma / GED

Experience: 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (training available for less than 1 year)

Certifications: Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker, and hazardous materials endorsements; no automatic restriction

Additional Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Good stable work record
  • Safe driving record (from MVR and previous employment)
  • Ability to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet DOT medical requirements
  • Shift hours vary by location, including days, nights, and weekends; ability to work required hours is mandatory

  • Wages are based on Teamster Union Scale, higher than most carriers, with overtime pay after 8 hours/day.
