Job summary

The Ground Up, Inc. (TGU) in Houston, TX, is seeking a CDL A Driver to safely deliver soils, mulch, compost and related products within the Houston metro area.

You will work with dispatch and shop staff to maintain routes, schedules and vehicle safety, while representing the company professionally. Requirements include a valid CDL Class A, 3 years of commercial driving with customer interaction, a clean MVR, and the ability to read and follow safety and DOT procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Three+ years of commercial driving with face-to-face customer interaction.
• Valid CDL Class A license with a clean MVR.
• Must be 21+ years old or older.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• End dump experience is preferred.
• Must be able to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and vehicle maintenance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver soils, mulch, compost, and other products in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operate the assigned truck to transport products and keep it loaded and secured.
• Notify management of any mechanical issues during delivery.
• Follow company and DOT procedures and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to routes and schedules.
• Submit paperwork accurately and timely.
• Maintain good attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
• Coordinate with dispatch, shop personnel, and supervisors.
