NAPA Private Fleet seeks a CDL A Local Driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations for regional moves between facilities, terminals, yards, or work sites. Home daily, no touch freight, routings with drop and hook options, and paid safety training are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be 23 years or older.
• CDL Class A with Haz-Mat endorsement.
• At least 2 years of CDL experience preferred.
• Clean MVR.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate electronic devices.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver freight regionally in a safe, timely manner.
• Perform routine inspections and report defects.
• Log work/rest periods accurately on ELD.
• Load and unload as needed and secure loads.
• Communicate with Dispatch/Operations about movements and delays.
• Complete shipping paperwork and records as required.

Job SummaryThe primary function of the NAPA Private Fleet, CDL A Local Driver is to operate various tractor-trailer combinations for extended periods of time, between company/customer facilities, terminals, yards, or work sites in order to pick up, transport and deliver freight in a safe, timely and efficient manner.Private Fleet Highlights:Scheduled home dailyNo touch freight.Dedicated routesLarge percentages of routes are drop and hook.Home DailyPaid Safety TrainingPaid Quarterly Safety BonusSatellite RadioPosition Performance Measures:Safe DriverUnderstand and follow FMCSA rules and regulations.Attention to detail.ResponsibilitiesTransport and deliver freight regionally for short or long distances in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and document and refer defects/repairs to manager and maintenance representative.Ensure that all operations are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.Accurately document and log work/rest periods in company assigned ELD (Electronic Logging Device)Safely load and unload all equipment/materials when needed over and properly secure all loads.Understands and carries out instructions given orally and in writing, including those on manifests, bills of lading and other shipping documents to determine the location and time of delivery.Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for the secure and safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV)Complete all necessary paperwork including shipping and billing documents and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.Frequently communicates with Dispatch/Operations, in person or by tablet or telephone, in order to advise of movements, problems with equipment, cargo, delays, etc.Represent the Company in a professional manner.Complete other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum of 23 years of ageMust have and maintain a current valid commercial driver’s license.License must be a Class A with HAZ-MAT endorsement.At least 2 years of CDL experience preferred.Required 2 Years Clean MVRAbility to occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs.Ability to operate electronics i.e., tablets, computer & e-logs, etc.Physical Demands / Working EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
