CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver Trainee

Job Summary

Sysco has immediate openings for CDL A Delivery Truck Driver Trainees without a CDL to train as dependable Delivery Partners. You will train to obtain your Class-A CDL, learning to operate a tractor-trailer safely, unload/deliver products on an assigned route, and build positive relationships with customers to meet their needs and expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Unload products from trailers, by hand or using carts, into customer storage areas.
  • Transport products safely in all weather conditions, including down ramps, stairs, or docks.
  • Perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, loading, and unloading.
  • Verify deliveries with customers, obtain signatures, and communicate discrepancies.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections following DOT and company policies.
  • Handle damaged goods and returns, and complete relevant paperwork.
  • Maintain DOT logs and vehicle maintenance reports, and coordinate with management.
  • Deliver within scheduled routes and inform management of any deviations.
Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Must obtain a valid CDL Permit and DOT medical certification before employment.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
  • Obtain CDL within 90 days of start date to remain employed.
  • One year of distribution, warehouse, or military experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications

Valid driver’s license with a clean record (no recent DUIs as specified).

  • Good math skills and a positive attitude.
Physical & Working Conditions

Ability to lift up to 100 pounds regularly, work flexible hours including weekends and holidays, and adapt to various start/end times.
