Job Summary

Assist Fleet Technician II and III in providing safe, reliable, and cost-efficient vehicles by learning to perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs, diagnosing and repairing to prevent breakdowns, reduce vehicle downtime, and improve fleet reliability.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance
• Perform FAI/CVI inspections on fleet vehicles
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory inspections
• Perform quality preventive maintenance and repairs
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs following manufacturer specifications
• Document all work performed accurately
• Develop proficiency in Sysco computer programs

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training (preferred)

Experience

• No experience required
• Valid driver's license (CDL preferred)

Skills

• Knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnosis
• Basic welding and computer skills

Additional Requirements

• Own tools required; diagnostic tools provided by Sysco
• Performance reviews for apprentices
• Certifications (preferred but not required): ASE, Brake Inspector, HVAC, etc.

Physical Demands

• Regular standing, walking, using hands, reaching, talking, hearing
• Frequent climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling
• Occasional sitting; frequently lift/move up to 100 lbs

Working Conditions

• Exposure to various environmental conditions and moving parts
