CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver - Hiring Immediately
  • Pay: $26.11 per hour based on experience
  • 3-day work week - 13-hour shifts paid for 40 hours
  • All shifts available: Sunday-Tuesday night shift 6pm-6am or Wednesday-Friday day shift 6am-6pm

JOB SUMMARY

Assist Fleet Technicians in providing safe, reliable, and cost-efficient vehicles by performing preventive maintenance inspections and repairs, diagnosing issues, and preventing breakdowns to reduce vehicle downtime and improve fleet reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn to perform inspections and preventive maintenance under supervision to ensure safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Perform FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, and light-duty vehicles following legal and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct quality preventive maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and more.
  • Address driver vehicle inspection reports promptly and accurately.
  • Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications.
  • Document all work performed accurately on work orders.
  • Develop proficiency in Sysco computer programs related to vehicle maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
  • No experience necessary; valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle systems, electrical diagnosis, welding, and computer skills.
  • Technicians must own necessary tools; apprentices will undergo performance reviews and training.
  • Certifications such as ASE, Brake Inspector, HVAC, or OEM diagnostic software knowledge are preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, handle tools, reach, talk, hear, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Frequently lift/move up to 100 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities needed include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Occasional exposure to wet, hot, cold, humid conditions, moving parts, confined spaces, fumes, airborne particles, and noise.
  • Work hours include evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
  • May require travel to other locations for training or business needs.
