Job summary

Mondelēz Global LLC is hiring a CDL A Local Delivery Driver in Birmingham, AL. This union role delivers temperature-controlled foods within the Birmingham area, stocks the truck, and unloads where needed. You will be back home daily on a variable schedule with reliable routes and competitive hourly pay.

The position offers local, daytime and evening shifts, 40+ hours weekly, and benefits. CDL A license and 2 years of experience are required, with a focus on safe driving and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid CDL A license.
• 2 years CDL A driving experience is required.
• No DUIs/ OWIs within the last 5 years.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment drug test, DOT physical, MVR and background screen.
• Basic understanding of temperature-controlled food transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to stores and warehouses in the Birmingham area.
• Unload as needed and stock truck with products.
• Route: Local, Birmingham area with 12–15 stops per day.
• Back home daily with 40+ hours per week.

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $29.05
• Competitive hourly rate with 40 average hours per week

Home Time, Routes, & Schedule

• Home every day
• Possible schedule, but subject to change based on customer demand: Monday-Saturday (4 to 5 days) Midnight until the shift ends. 40 + hours
• Route: Local, Birmingham area average 12-15 stops a day
• Level of touch: Combination touch and no touch freight

• 28', 48' and 53' dry van
• Automatic transmission

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a valid CDL A license
• 2 years CDL A driving experience is required
• Proven experience of safe driving behavior and no serious driving convictions in the last 5 years. All accidents and moving violations will be reviewed.
• Must have no DUIs/ OWIs within the last 5 years.
• Must be registered with the FMCSA’s Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Must be able to successfully pass DOT pre-employment drug test, DOT physical, MVR and national background screen.
• Basic understanding of temperature-controlled food transportation preferred.
• Able to use smart phones or tablets and ELD for logging positions and driving times
• Display flexibility toward daily changing routes and working times.
• Possess a great customer-oriented attitude, displaying our values to the customers you deliver goods to.
• General understanding of vehicle mechanics to communicate problems in case of breakdowns and to perform basic repairs yourself
• Driver should live within 30 miles of Birmingham, AL
