Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Springfield, MA is seeking CDL-A delivery drivers to support the nation’s food distribution system. You will operate tractor-trailer or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, delivering and unloading food products to customers on a timely basis while presenting a professional image.

The role requires DOT compliance, safety checks, accurate paperwork, and the ability to lift up to 90 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 6+ months commercial driving experience required.
• Valid CDL-A necessary.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Meet state licensing/certification requirements where applicable.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• DOT Health Card current or able to secure one.
• Able to lift/move freight ranging from 10–90 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors and co-workers.
• Work as part of a team to support the company’s delivery goals.
• Perform pre/post trip safety checks and inspections per DOT regulations.
• Inspect and secure loads and ensure accurate freight paperwork.
• Deliver and unload products to customer locations according to route plan.
• Obtain customer signatures and handle payments where required.
• Maintain tidy tractor and loading dock areas and complete required paperwork.
