Description

As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods using a flatbed truck, or tractor and flatbed trailer. This role involves loading, securing, and unloading cargo, as well as adhering to transportation regulations and ensuring the integrity of the transported items. CDL drivers play a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain by delivering a variety of goods, including oversized or unconventional loads.

Description

As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods using a flatbed truck, or tractor and flatbed trailer. This role involves loading, securing, and unloading cargo, as well as adhering to transportation regulations and ensuring the integrity of the transported items.

Loads are picked up in Jonesburg, MO, but you could be based out of Columbia, St. Louis or any neighboring areas with secured parking.

Primary Responsibilities

• Safe operation of tractor/trailer
• Secure cargo using straps, chains, and other devices
• Complete shipping and delivery paperwork accurately and on time
• Compliance with all regulations
• Report accidents, incidents, or safety violations promptly
• Maintain communication with supervisors, sales, and customers
• Perform equipment maintenance and pre/post trip inspections
• Maintain daily records, HOS, DVIR, proof of deliveries, and fuel receipts

Physical & Work Requirements

• Physically able to secure loads with chains and protect loads with tarps
• Some overnight stays (layovers) expected
• Continuous communication with departments and transportation network
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment

Required Background, Competencies & Expertise

• Valid CDL with endorsements
• Valid Medical Card
• Excellent driving record
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
• Physical fitness to handle heavy/oversized loads
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Accountability, safety, integrity, responsibility

Preferred Background

• 2 years driving experience
• 1 year flatbed experience

Compensation & Benefits

• Weekly pay, with top earners making $90,000+
• Minimum weekly pay of $1,480 for OTR drivers
• Sign-on bonus of $3,000, paid in two installments
• Home on weekends, paid time off, vacation, and various insurance benefits
