Job summary

RAS Logistics is seeking a CDL-A Flatbed Driver for a full-time, on-site role based in Syracuse, NY. You will safely operate a flatbed vehicle, secure loads, and maintain logs while coordinating with dispatch for timely deliveries.

The position requires a clean driving record, DOT knowledge, and strong safety, communication, and customer service skills. Opportunities include forklift experience and flexible scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record and familiarity with DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements.
• Experience operating flatbed equipment, including safe load securement, use of straps and chains, and tarping procedures.
• Moffett (truck-mounted forklift) experience preferred.
• Strong safety mindset, including adherence to company policies, defensive driving practices, and regular vehicle inspections.
• Basic route planning and navigation skills, including use of GPS and ability to follow dispatch instructions and delivery schedules.
• Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with dispatch, store associates, and customers.
• Good physical condition to handle the demands of flatbed work, including climbing on trailers, securing loads, and working in various weather conditions.
• Reliability and time management skills, with the ability to work full-time schedules, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Previous commercial driving or logistics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a CDL-A flatbed tractor-trailer to transport goods between designated locations.
• Inspect vehicle and equipment, secure and tarp loads as required, and complete necessary logs and paperwork.
• Communicate with dispatch and customer contacts to ensure timely deliveries.
• Comply with DOT and company safety policies and maintain professional demeanor during pickups and deliveries.
• Assist with loading and unloading within safe limits and report incidents or mechanical issues promptly.
