Job summary

Carter Lumber in Columbus, GA is seeking a CDL A driver who stays home daily and enjoys a predictable, stable schedule within a growing, family‑owned business that values reliability and safety.

You will transport materials across Georgia, provide friendly service at loading and delivery sites, secure loads (including tarping when necessary), operate a forklift for loading/unloading, and maintain vehicle condition and required documentation; bonuses are possible based on performance.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Flatbed experience.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Successful completion of required DOT pre-employment screening.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Transport materials to our locations across the state in a safe and timely manner.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service at loading and delivery sites.
• Secure the load, including tarping when necessary.
• Load and unload products with a forklift (no touch freight).
• Maintain vehicle condition and log all required documentation.
