Job summary

Rouse Trucking is hiring experienced flatbed drivers to move building materials, coils, pipe, and similar freight. The primary operating area is generally east of I-35, and drivers are paid for loaded and empty miles.

Drivers should be comfortable with the hands-on work that comes with flatbed freight. Drivers may bring one pet. Health insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and vacation time are available.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license is required.
• At least 1 year of tractor-trailer experience within the last 5 years.
• Minimum of 6 months flatbed experience.
• Tarping and load securement experience.

Responsibilities

• Tarping on approximately 3 out of 5 loads.
• Load securement is part of regular work.
• Move building materials, coils, pipes and similar freight for assigned lanes.

Location: Columbia, SC 29201. Pay: $1,700 to $1,800 per week. Home Time: Every 7–14 days with a 34–48 hour reset. Freight: Flatbed.

Regional home-time balance and reliable freight movement give CDL-A drivers a consistent schedule while running established flatbed lanes.

The Work:

Drivers should be comfortable with the hands‑on work that comes with flatbed freight.

• Tarping needed on approximately 3 out of 5 loads
• Load securement is part of the regular work
• Additional $30 on every load, whether tarping is required or not

Earnings:

• 70 CPM with loaded and empty miles paid
• Weekly earnings of $1,700 to $1,800
• Additional $30 paid on every load
• $5,000 sign‑on bonus for solo drivers

Schedule:

Home time is every 7–14 days for a 34–48 hour reset. Regional freight coverage and established scheduling help provide a practical rhythm between time out and scheduled resets at home.

Assigned Equipment:

• Assigned 2020 through 2025 Peterbilt 567 and 579 tractors
• Automatic and manual transmission options available
• 2024 48‑foot spread‑axle flatbed trailers
• Trucks governed at 70 MPH

Drivers may take their assigned truck home with a safe place to park it. Regular maintenance helps support dependable operation and reduce downtime.

Getting Started:

Drivers receive transition pay during their first few weeks while becoming familiar with routes, scheduling, and dispatch operations.

Rider & Pet Options:

Drivers may bring one pet. There are no breed or weight restrictions, and cats are allowed.

One passenger is permitted with the required liability form and must be at least 10 years old.

CDL-A Qualifications:

• Valid CDL-A license
• At least 1 year of tractor‑trailer experience within the last 5 years
